The Academy for First Aid and Safety employs only experienced WSIB approved first aid and first responder instructors! We have over a decade of experience teaching first aid, CPR, basic life support (HCP). Rest assured, when you come to our classes, you are taught by experienced first aid and CPR first responder instructors. All employers who are subject to the Occupational Health and Safety Act must comply with Regulation 1101 of the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act.
WSIB audits happen randomly, often with little to no notice. All employers must ensure they are compliant at all times.
The minimum recommended first certification for small work forces of 1-5 employees according to the The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario is Emergency first aid & CPR, which includes AED training. At least one employee must be certified and should be on duty and easily accessible at all times.
Example: A small work force of 5 employees at an office requires at least one trained person to perform first aid and CPR. He or she must be available at all times.
For work forces with 6 or more employees, standard first aid and CPR is the core requirement in accordance to the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
There must be a minimum of one trained first aid employee on duty at any given time who is certified.
If your workplace has multiple areas and departments, you will be required to have several employees trained.
