The Academy for First Aid and Safety of Toronto provides WSIB approved CPR certification training in Toronto Ontario.  Our CPR certification courses in Toronto are under the guidelines from The Canadian Red Cross Society and meet both WSIB and CSA certification standards for approved CPR training in Toronto!  Our fast track CPR training in Toronto allows participants to complete their CPR training certifications in just half the time by taking a blended e-learning + in class CPR certification course!

  • CHAPTER ONE: HISTORY OF THE RED CROSS 10:00am-10:15am

    History of The Red Cross Society: Learn about The Red Cross's rich history, their seven fundamental principals, and what they do for Canadians as well as for countries all around the world!

  • CHAPTER TWO: PREPARING TO RESPOND 10:15am-10:30am

    Preparing to respond all starts at home! From understanding the importance of having a first aid kit at home, to protecting yourself legally, and from disease transmission and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)!

  • CHAPTER THREE: CHECK, CALL, CARE! 10:30am-11:00am

    A primary survey is one of the most crucial surveys one must understand in order to deploy first aid in the most timely fashion possible! Furthermore, understanding how to perform injury checks are crucial for critical care while paramedics are being dispatched to the scene.

  • CHAPTER FOUR: CHOKING: 11:00am-11:30am

    Participants will learn to differentiate between a partial and complete blockage, and learn why it happens, how to prevent choking, and most of all, the crucial skills on how to clear the blockage.

  • CHAPTER FIVE: CIRCULATION EMERGENCIES: 11:30am-12:00pm

    Did you know that the number one cause of death in Canada is NOT Covid-19, but heart attack and stroke? Almost 70,000 Canadians die each year due to coronary artery disease. Learn how to prevent, detect, and care for heart attacks and strokes. Participants will also learn how to stop deadly bleeding through the use of medical bandages and proper use of a tourniquet.

  • LUNCH 12:00pm-12:30pm

    Take a break and relax inside Improve Canada Shopping Mall, enjoy plenty of bench seating, an amazing lounge, and an on site food court to satisfy your hunger during lunch period!

  • CHAPTER SIX: CPR AND AED USE: 12:30pm-1:45pm

    This chapter is the most intensive chapter out of the entire class! Everyone will learn how to perform CPR on a patient that is not breathing, which manually pumps oxygen rich blood to the brain in the event of a cardiac arrest. Are you confident to use an automated external defibrillator to save someone's life? You definitely will after you take this class! AED use can look intimidating at first, but in the end you will realize how easy it was all along! In fact, an AED can increase a person's chances of survival well past 50%, which depends on one metric: TIME!

Our emergency first aid and CPR is a continuation from CPR and adds two additional core chapters of emergency first aid certification in Toronto.

  • CHAPTER SEVEN: BREATHING EMERGENCIES: 1:45PM-2:00PM

    In the event of an anaphylactic reaction (severe allergic allergy), to an inexpected asthma attack, participants will be trained on how to properly administer an asthma inhaler, and epinephrine auto injector in order to allow greater air flow into the lungs and to reduce wheezing, swelling, and hives.

  • CHAPTER EIGHT: WOUND CARE: 2:00PM-2:30PM

    Participants will learn how to care for various wounds. Wounds include burns from heat, burns from chemicals, burns from electricity, bruises, knocked out teeth, impaled objects, eye injuries, chest injuries, crush injuries, etc.

  • END OF CLASS QUIZ: 2:30PM-2:45PM

    Your quiz contains 20 questions and is multiple choice. A minimum of 75% is required to successfully pass the written quiz component of this class.

  • CHAPTER ELEVEN: SUDDEN MEDICAL EMERGENCIES: 2:00PM-2:30PM

    Participants will learn how to care for various wounds. Wounds include burns from heat, burns from chemicals, burns from electricity, bruises, knocked out teeth, impaled objects, eye injuries, chest injuries, crush injuries, etc.

  • CHAPTER TWELVE: ENVIRONMENTAL ILLNESSES: 2:00PM-2:30PM
